Imperfection

Yesterday a very dear friend of mine told me she was proud of me for making a right decision. I needed that reassurance. Today we had a nice long talk over a cup of green tea soy latte and it felt really good. I am glad because I discovered more things about her, and I understood myself a whole lot better. These days I have been alternating between school and dance, and I told her how much I hate being inadequate. Have never been one of the smartest in school, not performing as well in dance…. just not… good enough I guess. She shared the exact sentiment. Came to the conclusion that sometimes perfection may not be the best measure of our capabilities, because we’re human and we’re flawed.

Just as long as we try…

Thanks Krisha, I’m so glad we share the same passion.

Sorry I can’t be perfect, but I’ll keep trying.

First week of Semester 2

Met up with my favourite gym girls the weekend before school reopened! Drove to town and decided to bring Rosy for a quick shower (Rosy is our family car do not ask me why it’s called Rosy). Dropped off at TAKA and my dad continued his journey with Rosy.

From the above pictures I can conclude that we have finally evolved!!!! No longer LC and retarded. No more camwhore-in-CJtoilet photos, it’s now in-the-middle-of-orchard-road-among-all-the-passersby photos. So proud of us :’)

Okay enough crap. Anyway it was a good day out with the girls. Miss them alot XXX

Monday! Went to school for a lecture and lunch at IKEA with FFF. Chicken overload X_X

Tuesday was Sandy’s birthday! Kristie and I prepared fake gifts (corn cracker and lollipop) and the look on Sandy’s face when she received them was priceless. Thank god for such a gullible friend really, she’s super easy to fool. Then we had a mini celebration at Utown’s starbucks.

Pain

I know dancers are not supposed to complain because physical pain and dance usually come in a package. But I have the mother of all aches today I’m serious!! Have been dancing for three days straight after two weeks of holiday and I can barely lift my legs now. Cramps decided to visit me as well and the stupid wisdom (wow not bad) tooth is so disturbing. It’s not exactly painful… It’s just annoying.

Don’t know how I’m gonna get my CAP 3.8 with four days of dance a week. Sigh no choice, I signed up for everything despite knowing the consequences so I can only blame myself I guess. Haha gonna give my all and see where it takes me.

School starts tomorrow good luck have fun!!

Making it count

I always think about the things I have not completed and the many different possible reasons that might be the cause. Because of the lack of time, my laziness, and my fears. But I have never once tried to do anything about that.

I need to remember that above all, I have youth. I am young and powerful and I have got so much to learn. But youth is merely temporal and time is running out.

I need to make 2012 count.

Goodbye 2011

Title says it all. 2011 has been relatively uneventful (academic and health wise) but it was the year I had all my firsts! First proper job, first driving experience, first time experiencing life of a uni student (which is not fun at all, in fact its the exact opposite), first diving experience, first time losing my wallet (sian), first pointe item on stage, first teaching experience etc. I’m kinda amazed by all the things I managed to try and accomplish! Things like getting my diving and driving licenses. Drama of the year goes to… actually I can’t decide. I don’t know if it was the receiving of Alevel results or the period I had the ulcer in my eye. I remember feeling so dejected over my results I cried for two days straight haha my dad thought I was suicidal. But it’s over now and in actual fact I expected my results… just kinda upset because I sort of gave my all? (i know i know lets not talk about math here) Anyway I’m still thankful for the fact that I managed to squeeze my ass into NUS so yup, I’m definitely over it. Also, stupid ulcer in my eye made me look like an idiot with a gauze over one eye at 12am while on my way home from the clinic and on my way to the hospital. Also at 2am, the doctor inserted a needle into my eye six times (!!!) while I stared at her and teared continuously (with one eye). HAHA scariest night of my life man. 2011 was the year of bad luck. Wallet got stolen, wanted to see a doctor but all 10 clinics that I’ve been to were closed, getting stuck on a train 20 minutes before my exam and… nearly knocked my ballet teacher down while driving around Bukit Batok.

Okay I have to learn how to count my blessings so despite everything, I must say I learned the most and had the most awesome bunch of people with me in 2011.

HI FFF !! I like them alot, forever so spontaneous and cool (doesn’t apply to sandy hahaha okay kidding). We have more than 7 sems together! We have 70 more years together okay! Steamboat after every final paper <3

Class gang! They’re almost like family. Thank you each and every one of you inside the picture, life would NEVER be the same without you guys and entering CJC was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Especially Yiwen and Leon haha thanks for being there

Hi lovers. We are going to grow old and die together !! I mean, if we remain single all the way (highly possible judging from the looks of it now hahaha) we still have eachother. YAY I know you guys will always be around BUT i have never once taken you guys for granted okay! Thanks for the birthday surprise, the last minute pizzahut lunches, and the whatsapp messages.

Hi princesses I miss y’all very much It’s been two weeks since our concert and I haven’t seen you guys since then! Anyway I know it’s like my 100th time repeating this but I’m really really glad we stayed on because ballet would never be the same without you girls. Love our 1001 practices just a few days before the concert, our kopitiam lunches every sunday, acting retarded (YL don’t need to act) etc.

Childhood friends <3 Still as crazy and talkative whenever we see one another. Really happy for you guys!!! Found your loved ones already please do not forget about me

Lynette. My best cousin ever. I know we’re both super busy and hardly have time together but it’s wonderful knowing there’s somebody who will always be around to guide you, scold you, teach you how to right the wrongs.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY: MY FAMILY !!!*inserts family photo*

Super thankful for my family. Mommy for taking care of everything, PAPA for being the super kind and generous dad, Ah Ma for all the concerns, Brother Sim for listening when I complain about stats (I have to listen to his whines too okay don’t say I’m a bad sister) and gugu for taking care of me when I worked at MOE!

Okay so after all the really touching words (HAHA), I shall attempt to list down my New Year resolutions:

1) Better health (not fall ill so easily)

2) CAP of at least 3.8 (HAHA ALL OUT!!!!)

3) Do well for ballet exam

4) Dance well for Hereafter’12 (more info on this at a later time!)

5) Manage my time properly in order to achieve all of the above mentioned hahaha

6) Better relationships with my family and friends

7) GROW TALLER (if it’s even possible) and put on a bit more weight maybe?

8) Be more organized

9) Learn how to cook (hahaha for the past 6 years since I was exposed to Home economics….. I have never failed to amaze my friends with my ability to produce inedible stuffs)

10) Stand firm on my decision and not let anything affect my rationale

Sorry for the spam but yeah since it’s 2.15am right now and I can’t sleep and nobody’s awake to talk to me, why not? Just crawled to the kitchen to get a piece of bread in order to take my medicine and I took my medicine in the dark haha hopefully I ate the correct one. Can’t sleep because tummy is being naughty again and fever came back to look for me. Bad friends why y’all no leave me alone ?!

On a separate note, I really miss my gym friends:( Amni just tweeted me from an unknown country and it suddenly struck me that she’s gonna leave for aussy in a month’s time! Four whole years there omg sian. Gong is in china and Ele is in UK. Sigh rejects all over the place. Now I really feel rejected. Miss our crazy gym days …

Okay I’m gonna try to fall asleep now because the doctor told me to get ample rest. Good night/morning everybody.

Disappointment

I find it really hard to swallow when people exaggerate their concern for me and then fade away quickly when a real problem arises. Or when they brag about how much they understand me when they do not even have the slightest clue on what i am going through. I hate chocolates, my only source of comfort food is ice-cream, I love bright colours, I can’t do math for nuts etc etc. You claim to understand me when you only know this much about me. This is so disappointing. And you ask me why I do not trust easily. Simple. Because of people like you.

Hi world. I feel sick. In fact i am sick. Haha what kind of statement is that. Just feeling loserish now because I’m supposed to fly to HK in two days time and because of the return of bird flu (like some movie title) I think they’re gonna be particularly strict at the airport with regards to our health. So I might not be able to enter HK if I don’t recover in time. *touch wood* kinda incoherent now so pardon me.

Sigh I think my body’s breaking down. Four hours of dance on Friday and my body’s aching until now. Tummyache’s been persistent for about five days already. The pain comes and goes but when it comes it hurts like omgwtfisthisforreal and it goes away quite fast too. I honestly do not understand what is becoming of me. Developed a slight fever and splitting headache earlier on but after taking paracetamol they went away. Please do not come back. But because of my poor tolerance of the side effects of paracetamol my tummy is now queasy and bloated. I know what you’re thinking- this cannot, that also cannot. FML. Trying my best to sleep now but to no avail. Sigh this feeling sucks.

On a more positive note! I celebrated Christmas with afew of my favorite people in the world will update later. With pictures and everything.

P.S I’m kinda disappointed in you. After everything. More on that later as well. Sigh. 2011′s been a really bad year… 2012 please be better.
